I was in a process of discovery. Searching for myself in color, texture, design and value. What hues, what techniques spoke to me? Who would I be without the constraints of an objective? As I've been growing these last years, slowly starting to shed my restrictive bindings- I had found myself desiring color in a big way- specifically NEON color!! I could indulge at last. Going back to my early days in painting at Tyler I had always loved using the palette knife, but there wasn't much space for it in the hyper-realistic oil painting that I have been doing for most of my career. So now, in this creative space of limitless possibility I could meet my old friend and see what we could do together.
